“Temporal anomaly detected. Please remain calm while the present is reconfigured.”

“That is not what it says.” Rake was sure she was lying. To get back at him for something he’d done earlier.

“I’m reading the display.” Kara said. She crossed her arms and dared Rake to disagree with her. “That’s what it says.”

”We’re not a time ship.” Rake said. “How could we even detect a temporal anomaly?”

“Would you like to theorize, or would you like to actually do something, captain?”

”What’s to do?”

”Rake, we may not exist in a few moments unless you do something!”

Rake grabbed her arm and hauled her up next to him.

”What are you-“

Rake silenced her with a kiss. She gasped, and Rake kept going. He was keeping her pressed against him as he devoured her.

”Present recalculated.” The computer voice said.

Rake stopped. He was still here. Kara was still here. There was no way to avoid talking about this now. Rake stifled a groan.
